For those of you who are unfamiliar with the notion of 3rd Year Wide Receivers, there is a common idea that many receivers break out in their third year. Evidence supporting this claim hasn’t exactly been overwhelming. Many players, such as AJ Green and Julio Jones, break out earlier. Many more players will not break out at all. Nevertheless, the third year is still a significant year for all players. To some degree it can be viewed as a do-or-die campaign. If they haven’t found success by the end of their third season, then their chances of ever doing so are greatly diminished.
